DISNEYANA FUN FAIR EVENT 2000. GREAT MOMENTS with MR. PINS – LIMITED EDITION 500. This Limited Edition was created by Imagineer Sam McKim for a Disneyana Fun Fair event on July 2000. It marks the 35th anniversary of Disneyland’s Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, which was first created for the New York’s World’s Fair. This pin features Lincoln’s profile in an oval in the center. Behind the oval are the Capitol building (on left) and Sleeping Beauty Castle (on right). In the oval surrounding Lincoln it reads, Celebrating Thirty-Five Years of Great Moments. On the bottom are the names Sam McKim and his colleague Bob Gurr. I stood in a long line to have this pin signed by the now late Great Disney Imagineer, Sam McKim. During his 32 year career with Walt Disney Imagineering just about every land at Disneyland benefitted from Sam’s magic touch. Sam retired from Disney in 1987 and in 1996 was a recipient of the Disney Legends Award. McKim passed away on July 9, 2004! Photo of actual pin.
