Each Pokitpal represents a different stretching portrait in the appropriately named Stretching Room. As with the ride, when you first see the Pokitpals, they seem perfectly normal. Each one has a lovely portrait of someone from the past. But then as you begin to pull the top of the Pokitpal out of its holder you discover that the loverly portraits are actually full of danger and death. It imitates what happens in the stretching room as the portraits appear to be lengthening, revealing new and unsettling details about their subjects. This is a MUST-HAVE set! These boxes were displayed for a short period in a small enclosed glass curio cabinet, and then packaged up in their boxes and stored in a closet with other Olszewski stuff. Robert William Olszewski (pronounced ol-shes-ski) has established himself as a major influence in the creation and production of miniature figurative art. Robert Olszewski began his art career first as a painter and as an art teacher who evolved to become a world known miniature figurative artist, sculptor, and architect. In 1977, his first serious miniature figurative works were sculpted to accessorize a doll house that he built for his daughter, Meredith. Over a 30-year career, Olszewski’s miniature work continues to evolve, and he has created a body of work that is collected worldwide.
